Our AMG buddy (& my best friend) [AMG] Wayne is a freakin GOD in the 2010' Calsonic Impul Nissan GTR! Here's his WR video - Allthough he's allready beat this time and gotten a 6:29.620 - just haven't made the video yet. Sorry about the Michael Jackson music - Waynes a big M.J. fan and I figured I'd use music that he enjoyed.The video is the main one on my channel, you'll see it: "GTR Nurburgring 6.33.955"

Really nice to see this, congrats to Wayne for achieving a WR. you and Wayne will have to master GTR's in LFS now.... You could try for a WR at AS3 wink

I'll never get a WR in LFS Heeheehee - That would be like me trying to get a Gold medal in the Olympics. There's just waaay too many drivers involved who've dedicated their lives to LFS - whereas I'm just a guy who plays when he's not changing his kids' diapers, doing chores for his wife, or going to work. The best I can hope for is to maybe get a 1:33.10 after another few years of this. I'm allmost 2 yrs now with playing LFS and it's been the best online gaming experience I've ever had and I'm hooked, but I just can't compete with guys who have no kids, let alone guys who live at home with their parents and do nothing but play 24/7 - They'll allways be the one's with the WR's

Thanks Kv, that's a good perspective. Sorry if my post may have sounded bitter or regretful. I really don't mind not being a WR holder, I was just trying to put to words what makes it so out of reach. But I guess if I was going for WR with an S2 track and car combo it wouldn't be as hard since there wouldn't be as much competition. Allthough the only title I actively seek in LFS is my own pb, It's allways .01 away, and it's a never ending joyous thing to chase - like a dog chasing his own tail. (^_^)

I just realised two things about my latest post that could come across the wrong way. Whoops!

1) I say I don't mind not being a WR holder, allmost sounds like I expected to be one or something.. sounds arrogant and I didn't like the way that came out. What I should've said is that achieving a WR isn't a goal for me.

(Allthough since my goal is too allways improve my own pb, then I guess given enough time I could inadvertantly end up with one eventually perhaps).

2) I hope it didn't sound as though I think that achieving a WR in S2 would be easy. I certainly don't know much about the level of competition there and for all I know, it may be even harder.

Also, Kv's post deserved more appreciation for it's wisdom. Kv you have the right of it - the most important thing in LFS is building your online persona while you're having a good time socialising, working on pb's, rt's or whatever. The image we craft of ourselves, how we behave, what we say, what we do - this is the most important thing. We have a responsibility to those who race at AMG: To be role models, to help those in need, to inspire good will on the server, and to bring joy to the lives of other racers. And this is indeed why I'm so into LFS - I feel as though I have a place in a community and there are those who depend on me. And I don't want to let them down, I want to be there for them. Making a difference is more important than making a WR.

Oh yeah, I allmost forgot to mention, and in the spirit of "bringing joy to the lives of other racers", the main reason I made this thread was because I hope to persuade a few guys to go comment on Wayne's 1st youtube video of his new 6:24 Nurburgring record. I know that it means a lot to him and he's worked really hard on achieving that laptime and since it's his first attempt at a youtube video I think it would be touching if he got some love and support from us in the comments section of his video. I know it would mean a lot to him. So if you're reading this: Please find it in your heart to leave a nice comment on his youtube video - Wayne has a big heart and I know it would mean so much to him to see AMG friends showing their support. Speaking of AMG support - Wayne said he was going to make a donation to AMG for me - I really feel bad that I haven't donated yet. I need a better job that doesn't have me living paycheck to paycheck. Hopefully I'll get the promtion I'm after and then I'll be able to contribute to the server like I should. Its great Smoke supporting your teammates WR, & i enjoyed watching the lap, Wayne's clearly got talent in that sim, but having never driven GTR2 it difficult gauge just how good it was. Its great you both are active in lfs & i sometimes race with you guys on GTI as i struggle to find someone to race with on GTR, but after a few days i get tired of people expecting me to stop mid race & clear the sever of crashers. You guys need to come to gtr gt2 servers for some uninterrupted races to show us what you got, & we have plenty of setups to share. smile
